After an interview with #DiegoVoci™ in December 1973, Victoria Williams, then a writer was helping #Coop Cooprider gather stories, photos, & related ‘Diego’ information to assemble a book. She wrote, “DIEGO dominates the space around him.” The interview was published in a local TV Guide in Germany: https://www.pinterest.com/diegovoci/publications-diegovocitm/

The book did not happen in 1973, but last year in July 2015, Stephen Max and Coop Cooprider were able to select more than 100 images of Diego‘s art, an internationally collected Italian #Artist. Cooprider (DiegoVoci™Historian since ’73) recruited Stephen Max, from Alberta, Canada to join the DiegoVoci™Project (DVP). Stephen and his wife Wendy had exclusively represented Diego in Canada from 1981 until Diego’s untimely death from lung #cancer in 1985. Diego’s widow Helga Voci and their daughter Alessandra Voci still reside in Germany.

#Conversations between #DiegoVoci™ Collectors

Eight years ago, one DiegoVoci™ collector after another found each other.  The door opened for discussions as DiegoVoci™ collectors share their hidden DiegoVoci™ works of art.  Christiane, Diego’s niece, posted her favorite DiegoVoci™ (see the original post on Artifact Collectors: http://www.artifactcollectors.com/diego-voci-antonio-diego-voci-3984818.html#40044).

This portrait is signed “Voci” a signature used pre 1965 prior to “Diego“.  A gentleman called FORMERMIL (Col. Stev Snow) who sadly to say is no longer with us here on earth) posted an astute interpretation of Christiane Hauk’s favorite work of art by DiegoVoci™.

Christiane

A drawing by DiegoVoci™

In FORMERMIL’s words;

“What a great piece of art.  I love the movement surrounding an otherwise haunting Mona Lisa beauty – some sadness and resignation in the mouth and lips, yet penetrating complexity in the eyes projecting strength.”

THE #GOLD RUSH OF ’49

Fortune was there 165 years ago for those who searched.

Another opportunity exists today!! Over 3,000 more artworks by the internationally collected artist Antonio DIEGO Voci (VOH-chee) are waiting to be discovered. They could be anywhere. The original owners who hoarded them for decades are dead or getting closer. The dozens of Diego oil paintings that each collector owned are suddenly appearing in the strangest places, and at unbelievably low prices. Here is an example of two hidden gems wonderfully rendered, found online at a local #Goodwill auction site.

The new owner, Ron Brack Jr. wrote; “I purchased them from the online Goodwill auction in Tacoma, Wash., I paid $10.00 for the pair. The first painting is labeled D-108929. Diego. Mann mit Müte. The second painting is marked D-108928. Diego. Mann mit Bart. This is not written on the paintings themselves but on a cardboard holding the paintings in the frames. The dimensions are 5 1/16″ x 7″ for both, and that is out of the frame.”

Before you begin your search;

Many of the prospectors for gold were shocked to find their new found metal was “fool’s gold”, not the real thing.

To recognize the real thing in a Diego artwork examine his style and his signatures. Mostly Diego. But in earlier works it could be A.Voci, D.Voci, or just Voci.

When you find your treasure, contact us diegovociproject@gmail.com. We are archiving this master artist’s works as he is being rediscovered by art aficionados everywhere. The values will soon substantially increase as a new generation grabs up the available supply. Diego died in 1985. There won’t be more.

#COOP COOPRIDER – DIEGO VOCI HISTORIAN #CELEBRATES

Today, October 26th, 2015 my dad COOP COOPRIDER celebrates his 79th B-DAY!

As Diego Voci #Historian since 1973, my dad Coop is responsible for almost every publication you may have held on to when you bought your DIEGO artwork(s) since then!  In 2010 when dad and I were googling (it wasn’t even an official Webster’s Dictionary word yet) and found Mary Trimmins’ post on Artifact Collectors, who would have thought we’d be here today having cataloged over 1,000 Diego Artworks in the official DIEGO VOCI ARCHIVE to date at the DIEGO VOCI PROJECT (DVP).

Thank you & send us more: diegovociproject@gmail.com

My favorite of dad’s publications is the 8-Page catalog:

Coop's 8-page Catalog Published in 1974.

Coop’s 8-page Catalog Self-Published in 1974.

The cover seen here, has been used repeatedly over the years by all who love Diego and also like DIEGO’s signature. My dad, Coop, actually watched Diego draw and then created this trademark signature we all recognize. My dad and Diego spent much time together and hence we have the TV Guides*, the Interview with Victoria Williams*, and many memories*! (*See the publications, signature, Helga’s stories and more about Diego, and all 8 pages at our DVP thread on AC: http://www.artifactcollectors.com/diego-history-4330818.html#43308 )

My brother Kyle and 5 sisters: Shannon, Molli, Gabrielle, Kendra, and Tayna are so blessed to have Coop Cooprider as our dad – and Patti as our mom. They’ll be celebrating 57 years of marriage this coming February. One of my favorite photos is seen here:Dad and Mom COOPS 79th Birthday TODAY 26 OCT 2015

And, in addition to having had a successful career as a top executive, raising 7 children with my mom #Patti – dad, Coop, sings. Instead of pursuing a singing career as “Buddy Ashton” he stayed with mom to give us all 7 – a very good life! Dad took time out about 12 years ago to record a CD (yes, he croons like Frank #Sinatra!) titled “14 for my 7“:

“14 for my 7” by Coop

The DIEGO VOCI PROJECT would not be as successful as it has been without Lisa Camargo and Stephen Max in Canada. We all celebrate together for Coop’s continued desire to enhance DIEGO VOCI’s awareness in the art world! Thank you dad, Kami

YOU AND I ARE #DIEGO VOCI’S #ACTORS ON HIS #STAGE

The world and all its’ people were players on DIEGO Voci’s stage.

What’s your interpretation of DIEGO’s “Mural” at the Voci Family Home?
Helga Voci Mural

DIEGO’s living spirit is contained in framed canvases and muraled on interior walls.

A large wall mural painted by #DIEGO still lives today at the original VOCI Family (pronounced VOH-chee) home, near Wiesbaden (Germany) where DIEGO’s widow, Helga Voci, lives today and where DIEGO lived and painted until his death on December 10, 1985.

The stories that live in DIEGO’s mind were expressed through his works of art.  What stories do you recall of DIEGO? Please email your stories to diegovociproject@gmail.com.

You may not know when DIEGO saw you, but be sure in his mind, you were auditioning for some future performance DIEGO would direct with his magical brush on canvas.

The #Cooprider family has never been distant from #ART. My mom Patti, an #ArtHistory Major, is having a show this weekend – with just a #Taste of her talent being shown in La Jolla, CA. Patti and my dad Coop raised us in Europe and always made sure we appreciated the cultures and the arts of each country we visited. My parents both studied Art – and even with seven kids we traveled, they traveled, seeing museums and collections we never dreamed of seeing in person. They continue with their passion of the “#Arts.” Check out my mom Patti’s Gallery Show link: http://www.1210gallery.com (FB, too).

Below are 2 photos. First shown are my dad Coop Cooprider (Diego Historian) with my 6 siblings (I took the photo in ‘72) with one of their first Diego Oil #Paintings up on the wall. “Friends” was bought from Naffouj’s Private Collection (see our heading on WordPress).

“Friends” by Diego with the COOPRIDERS, 1972

Antonio DIEGO #Voci is just one artist who graces my parents walls today in their home in California 40 years later. Best, here is the 2nd photo of my mom, #Diego, my younger sister Kendra– and myself #Kami – shown below. Diego took time (not much – maybe 5 minutes) to sketch for me my own personal “Clown.” It hung on my walls for many years. During my many moves over the last 40 years though – it disappeared.

#TRIVIA: a point often overlooked in old photographs where Diego was captured there might be a hidden DIEGO we can identify – notice the “Flower” Painting in the top right corner? It could be the one that belongs to this day to the “Dr. Ogden Brown” family in Colorado. “Petit Fleurs” is one of the numerous DIEGO artworks in their family collection. https://www.pinterest.com/diegovoci/
