These images come from a #box of #photos that Helga Voci, widow of Diego Voci, sent to us from #Germany.

One by one, members of (The Diego Voci Project) post these images on #social #media with the hope to locate the whereabouts of these #lost paintings.  With a #vacuum of no information from 1985-2007, all 4000 #oil #paintings by Diego Voci were out in the world somewhere.

Collectors who purchased from Diego before he passed away (in 1985) were enamored by the #magnetism of Diego and his works.

“THE *DIEGO #POTATO #CHIP #PHENOMONEN”

Can you eat only one potato chip and stop?

Likely no. Many people similarly became addicted to a magnetic appeal of art by internationally collected artist Antonio Diego Voci (1920-1985). Many such collectors who had a dozen or more Diego’s have passed on, and the Diego art works have been scattered.

When Diego passed away back in 1985, Helga (Diego’s widow) had no idea that Diego’s life would create such a legacy to so many. Thanks to the internet, social media, and communication tools, Diego Voci collectors are being discovered every day.

How many facets to a diamond?

Often it was said “Diego” has too many styles.  Collectors of the works of internationally collected artist Antonio Diego Voci (1920-1985) own and treasure works in several “facets” ranging from realism, cubism, fauve, impressionism, and yes surrealism, and in which Diego excelled.

#DINING WITH #DIEGO… SURROUNDED BY #ART

Diego Voci; “Jeune Fille avec Fleurs” #10802-106, 40x50cm oil on canvas

“Jeune Fille avec Fleurs” (40x50cm #10802-106, oil on canvas) graced the walls of La Gondola #restaurant where Diego Voci Art Historian Coop Cooprider dined several times with #Diego during his years in #Germany. This unique Diego artwork is of #glass paint. And to add to Coop’s experience with sitting there and being surrounded by paintings by Diego Voci on the walls carrying on their own conversation (if the walls could talk).

#Diego loved stopping at restaurants every town he drove thru or visited.
Becoming friendly with the owners of restaurants was an everyday common occurrence for Diego. So much so, that, Sig. #Daneluzzi of #Ristorante #Firenze purchased this painting “Jeune Fille avec Fleurs” at #La_Gondola  Restaurant back in November 24, 1980 ($480) to display in his own Restaurant Firenze. Dameluzzi owns 4 paintings and 8 Lithos and drawings . Coop loved the Gnocchi at Firenze, his wife Patti, the Spaghetti Carbonara.

THE ARTIST #DIEGOVOCI AND HIS COLLECTORS

The intimacy of purchasing a piece of fine art many times stems from the connection point with the artist.  As the Diego Voci Project team archives works of art by Diego Voci, the majority of the collectors have personally met Diego Voci, himself.  Diego Voci, an extrovert by nature loved connecting with people and people were charmed by Diego’s sincere ability to connect.

An example here with Bob Watson, a Diego collector, who found the Diego Voci Project on Google and reached out to share:

“I lived in Wiesbaden from 1979-1986 and purchased this pastel entitled “Jockey’s” from an artist named Diego. I did meet him”.

You can see the reflection on the image itself from the camera flash because “Jockey’s” was framed behind glass.

As more and more Diego Collectors and their artworks are discovered, many are finding the volunteer team on diegovociproject.com thru google.  And over many years the team has attempted efforts all over social media and art  / collectible websites to help spread the name Diego Voci… so that one day.. The legacy of Diego Voci will be spread throughout the world and all of his works would be cataloged and Diego’s masterpieces exhibited around the world.
