DIEGO & HORSES! He loved the majestic presence, the powerful muscles showing their strength, and the images he’d seen be Michelangelo and Leonardo Da Vinci. Diego felt the power.

Each work created here by DIEGO VOCI shows how Versatility was Diego’s strength. Driven to experiment in every genre while remaining distinctly Diego.

THE GENERAL #PATTON CONNECTION TO DIEGO VOCI the #ARTIST

Cheveaux Arabs 230 513-69 For Post 3 DEC 2015

Cheveaux Arabs“1969 by Diego, Oil on Canvas 35″ x 22”

The #New Generation of DiegoVoci™ aficionados continues to build as the #DiegoVoci™ Archive received an image of painting by Diego from a half a century ago. What is the connection to General #Patton?

James, who lives in the U.K., is a proud #New Generation owner of “Cheveaux Arabs” (Arabian #Horses), a Diego painted in 1969. James Cockerill reveals its history:

“It was won at the German American Friendship Ball, chaired by George Smith Patton IV, [a Major General in the United States Army and] the son of famous World War II general, George S. Patton. My mother was working in Major General Patton’s office in the very early 70’s.

At the ball it was the First Prize in a Raffle, which my mother won. It’s been owned by my family ever since. I remember it always hung in the lounge on the wall. We were living in Nuremberg (Nürnberg) which is where I was born.”

The back of the canvas reveals a mystery. Who blacked out the writing and why?  The top one appears to be the signature of “Jawdat” #Naffouj who had an exclusive contract with Diego at that time. It looks like the #painting went back to Diego for some reason – and either Diego or Jawdat was the obliterator. There are others like this. Do you own one?

Dozens of Collectors Still Have Dozens of Diegos’

Just one of many experiences with artist Antonio Diego Voci; “My parents collected over 15 pieces (mostly original oils) from our time in Germany in early 1980’s.  I used to play with Alessandra (daughter of Helga and Diego Voci) same age at the time. We had many trips to Diego and Helga’s house and Diego painted me a horse for my birthday in 1978!”

Today 37 years later, this horse drawing owned by Alissa Snow Skildheim hangs in her office.

This is only ONE of many collectors of Antonio Diego Voci works of art out in the world and many we have yet to receive images of and provenance information (including Skildheim’s.. hint, hint can’t wait to see them all.)

And, just one example of Diego’s characteristic and his obsession with capturing the moment.  Where ever, whenever and with whom… Diego would portray their wish with just a few moments and a few brush strokes… and all this is an appetite for more…

DRAWINGS TELL #TRUTH ABOUT ARTISTS

12.31.2014 4 drawing image with titles III

Many curators and critics will tell you that the true talent of an artist is revealed in their drawings.

Take a blank piece of paper with a pen, or stick of graphite or pastel and swiftly with a sureness of line create a work of art finished in mere moments.  DIEGO excelled in that talent and he did so incessantly.  Diego was financially independent based totally upon his art.  During his bohemian early life travels Diego did drawings for tourists on the streets of Rome, Venice, Aviano, and Milano.

Believe it or not, when the #Diego Voci Project did a side by side comparison of a 45 million dollar drawing by #Raphael and a Diego drawing of a Jewish Rabbi, more people thought the Rafael was the Diego, and vice versa.  Link http://www.artifactcollectors.com/diego-voci-painting-of-the-week-5154118/Page4.html#98.

ATTENTION: LOOK FOR “VOCI” NOT “DIEGO” IN ZÜRICH

Gallery

This gallery contains 3 photos.

On October 7, 2014 an ad appeared on Craigslist in Zürich in search of “Diego” artwork. Great idea! If they do find some, it will be quite a treasure! One is not likely to find a “Diego“, a signature not used … Continue reading

What is the common denominator of each of these 6 wonder horses?

  1. Secretariat
  2. Seattle Slew
  3. Flicka
  4. Black Beauty
  5. Valiant Stallion
  6. Green Horse

Each of these wonder horses came to their owners for very little money; owners who deeply believed in them, and loved them.  And today, they are among the world’s best remembered equine for their greatness.

It seems certain horses and certain horse lovers have a “Sixth” sense, an intuition that brings them together providing an energy that propels them to championship.

Here are images of two championship horses (page 28 & 29) from the new 145 page deluxe #art book “The Beauty of Diego” which you can view electronically at no charge.  http://www.blurb.com/books/5419805-the-beauty-of-diego

page 28 and 29 Green Horse and Valiant Stallion

“Valiant Stallion” and the “Green Horse” are the magnificent creations of internationally collected artist Antonio Diego Voci (1920-1985) depicted in the #surreal; artistic champions on canvas inspired by Diego’s love of #horses he observed.
