#CLOWNS BY DIEGO VOCI

La-D-eus-Clowns-Canvas-Front

Diego Voci; Les Deux Clowns #361-465 oil on canvas 60x80cm

When a new potential art collector made the first purchase, often it would be a clown by internationally collected artist Antonio Diego Voci (1920-1985 VOH-chee).

Then the new collector experienced the “Potato Chip Phenomenon”, being unable to stop buying just one Diego Voci painting.  They become attracted by a unique magnetism in Diego’s masterly creations totally unconfined by just one genre.

NOTE: Google has assembled its own image collection of Diego Voci artworks.  It’s awesome!  Google “Diego Voci” and click “Images” or click here: https://www.google.com/search?q=Diego+Voci&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwix1pPQgO_YAhVP92MKHWldBbMQ_AUICigB&biw=1680&bih=944

The Diego Voci Project has been on worldwide search since 2009.  We have only found about 25% of Diego’s works so far.  The image of “Les Deux Clowns” above was taken on October 17, 1976 when purchased in Worms, Germany by proud owner JIM HOLT who contacted the Diego Voci Project to be cataloged in the Diego Voci Archive.

SEEKING CARUSO! DOES ANYONE KNOW #JERRYCARUSO?

Jerry Caruso wrote to Artifact Collectors on January 27, 2013 that he was interested in selling his Diego landscape, see image below.

Jerry shares,
“We were at Ramstein Air Base from 68 – 74 and have a Diego landscape. The painting is oil on canvas and is approximately 24″ X 36″. We are open to selling it, if you are interested, please make an offer.”

The Diego Voci Project responded but, it seems because it was only a “Guest” post instead of registering as an Artifact Collectors Member (it’s free), everything is lost somewhere in cyberspace.

The official Diego Voci Archive needs more historical details on this painting.  We can tell it is from the late 60’s and probably came from Joy and Jawdat Naffouj by the frame and the “J” by the serial number.  During this time-frame of 1968-74, DIEGO was represented by Canadian art dealer Joy Gibson beginning in 1965. Joy’s business was located in Zweibrucken, Germany and located near with the Canadian Air Force Base, it was there where she met Jawdat Naffouj then soon moved to Ramstein / Landstuhl where they established a gallery and got married.

THE SLEUTHS WHO KNOW FIND #GOLD

Crazy as it may sound, as people search for Diego Voci artworks, people who know are getting bargains from people who don’t know.  The next-to-nothing steals may be gone.  97¢ link http://www.artifactcollectors.com/diego-voci-painting-of-the-week-5154118/Page4.html#62739, and $10 for a pair of small Diego’s http://www.artifactcollectors.com/diego-voci-painting-of-the-week-5154118/Page7.html#75454.  There are still about 2,500 Diego oil paintings out there waiting to be discovered and cataloged for the Diego Voci Archive.

These 2 exceptional works were under $1,000 each.  On the left, “Harlequin au bonnet rouge” (31″x23″) and on the right “Madonna” (31″x 16″) without frames.More on them later.
