COLORBLIND PAINT BRUSHES #6

Diego Voci; Unknown Title and Unknown Collector

Every color of skin received the inspiration and talent of internationally collected artist Antonio Diego Voci (1920-85 VOH-chee). About the turn of the decade 1960’s to 70’s was a period of experimentation with texture, sand paint, glass paint (requires cooking) and this one with several textures; a dark skinned person of wealth, and her servant.

Herr Dirk Reischauer of Wiesbaden, exactly 40 years ago paid 1,800 in German currency for this canvas by internationally collected artist Antonio Diego Voci (VOH-chee); (1920-1985). He was attracted to Diego’s expression of simplicity, composition, color contrast and depth of distance. But, where is Dirk and his painting today? Contact us at diegovociproject@gmail.com

DID #DIEGO COPY #CEZANNE?

Stillife with Flowers and Cezanne still life

Top: Diego (old faded Polaroid image) ; Bottom: Cezanne

Diego never copied said the widow, Helga of her internationally collected artist husband Antonio Diego Voci (1920-1985).  Others who knew Diego confirmed he did everything from either memory or pure creativity.  The experienced eye can spot Cezanne’s influence but, the work remains distinctly Diego.  (Check out the #pears).

Helga found this faded (the rich color is gone) Polaroid indicating Joseph Di Giacinto paid only $380 in Stuttgart, #Germany in 1975.   “Hey Joseph!” Contact us at diegovociproject.com.

ONE #DIEGOVOCI PAINTING HOLDS SO MANY MEMORIES

petite-village-de-montague_a

Tony and Stacie Westbrook share their #heartfelt #story of their Diego Voci painting title “Petit Village de Montague” and how this #painting holds many years of memories for them.

In Tony’s words:

My wife and I purchased this piece while living in Germany and serving with the US military around 1982.  We seem to recall that we purchased it at an art show probably held at the Officers Club in either Stuttgart or Heidelberg.  We were living in Heilbronn at the time.  Over the years we have collected many pieces of art – originals and limited prints – yet this piece (Petit Village de Montague) remains our absolute favorite.  It is a constant reminder of our time in Europe and what we took on as a very young married couple.  I am happy to say that after 37 years we are still very happily married and that this piece always gets the most prominent spot in the house.  It has been all over the United States and has been enjoyed by countless numbers of our friends.  Its simplicity, warmth, and mixture of color/contrast make it a wonderful piece to gaze at and enjoy for a lifetime.  This painting is one of my most prized processions and I will never part with it.

“Petit Village de Montague” as painted by Diego, represented all that we loved about out time in Europe while allowing our imagination to constantly explore who lived in village, where the village was, what the families experienced, endured, and enjoyed about their town.  The painting just brought forth positive feelings and thoughts which is what drew us to it.

This is one example of stories we receive from collectors of Diego Voci’s work of art.  The Diego Voci Estate dreams of one day to find a generous benefactor to sponsor a major museum exhibition… in the meantime take a tour of Diego’s virtual museum: https://youtu.be/GG5Jl-2FuXM

A #TASTE OF #PARIS IN EACH IMAGE FROM #DIEGO

#MAX AND #DiegoVoci™ PART THREE

Diego in Paris with Dans La Rue“Dans La Rue” top painting by DiegoVoci™

and a #YouTube video snapshot (image below) created by Stephen Max

Stephen and Wendy Max, collectors of #DiegoVoci™ works of #art and past exclusive agent for Diego’s works in #Canada.

“…In 1975..We continue to have fond memories of a motor trip, early in our tour, to #France.

One of the first great European City’s we visited was #Paris.  “Dans La Rue” is the Diego oil painting which helps to keep those memories of “The City of Love” alive and current.

Here, Diego created an immersive work capturing stunning detail which explodes with #color.  This oil on #canvas represents one of our more memorable trips, with its perfect depiction of a moment in the streets of #Paris.  Its simple #beauty, coupled with the complexity of form strikes you at every level (just like #Paris itself) with its eloquent yet subtle depictions of its people.

The combination of #people, #structure and the #energy of being “In The Streets” make it one of our favorite #paintings.”
