Patti (Keister) #Cooprider (28 April 1940- 4 January 2020)

Exactly one year ago today, the 62 year old “Winning Team” of Patti & Coop Cooprider became minus one, Metastatic Vulvar Cancer. Patti said “No Grieving!”

Patti in #Erfenbach, #Germany with #DIEGO gracing the #Cooprider Villa walls 1980’s.

In the end, she was still leading by example. If you haven’t seen Patti in the mini-video on her next to last day in hospice bed, it’s an exhilarating testimony of Patti’s unique ability to rise above it with buoyancy and “joie de vivre” , in a spontaneous singing response to Coop’s “I Love You” with Teddy Bear in hand. (Be sure to wait ‘til Patti sings!)

It’s precious. And, a reminder to all of us. We can find the reserves of joy in the darkest moments. HAPPY NEW YEAR from Coop and Family!

PS: Thank you Stephen Max, DIEGO VOCI PROJECT Producer for helping with the video.

4 DIEGO VOCI TREASURES FOUND AT ESTATE SALE – NUMBER 3

CLOWN VOR DEM ZIRKUSZELT” – Antonio DIEGO Voci (1920-1985) was a playful character. Diego, as he was best known, liked being at the center of the happenings! Described as “charismatic”, “worldly”, a “man’s man”, “empathetic” and “boisterous” in nature.  Diego did have a great sense of humor. No wonder Diego could whip out clowns with ease and fun!

CLOWN vor dem Zirkuszelt for POST with Title et al 6 APR 2018Over the last 10 years the Diego Voci Project has been privy to many of Diego’s clown faces sent by many of you. Most we’ve seen and shared on social media are of the chest/neck upward always with great detail in the eyes and face. This particular clown includes a circus tent that is highlighted in the background and on the left some bright colored squares with hues of the sun fading into the sky.

Before Tom Catron won it at auction in South Dakota, Beverly Cowan had purchased Diego’s clown in Germany. Beverly was a teacher to 6th grade students for 5 years, she must have had a sense of humor to teach young kids in the 70’s!

Beverly’s clown does not exactly smile, but then again we’ve seen very few with smiles. Most DIEGO clowns have a neutral expression or even somber faces. Here a white cap is balanced with the broad wide collar, also emphasizing his make-up. The grand greenish bow tie with thin vertical red stripes is centered and bold. #CLOWNS BY DIEGO VOCI

La-D-eus-Clowns-Canvas-Front

Diego Voci; Les Deux Clowns #361-465 oil on canvas 60x80cm

When a new potential art collector made the first purchase, often it would be a clown by internationally collected artist Antonio Diego Voci (1920-1985 VOH-chee).

Then the new collector experienced the “Potato Chip Phenomenon”, being unable to stop buying just one Diego Voci painting.  They become attracted by a unique magnetism in Diego’s masterly creations totally unconfined by just one genre.

NOTE: Google has assembled its own image collection of Diego Voci artworks.  It’s awesome!  Google “Diego Voci” and click “Images” or click here: https://www.google.com/search?q=Diego+Voci&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwix1pPQgO_YAhVP92MKHWldBbMQ_AUICigB&biw=1680&bih=944

The Diego Voci Project has been on worldwide search since 2009.  We have only found about 25% of Diego’s works so far.  The image of “Les Deux Clowns” above was taken on October 17, 1976 when purchased in Worms, Germany by proud owner JIM HOLT who contacted the Diego Voci Project to be cataloged in the Diego Voci Archive.

#DIEGOVOCI VERSATILITY vs. #BERNARDBUFFET SAMENESS

Bernard #Buffet clowns have sold at auction upwards of $100,000 each. They are instantly recognizable as #Buffet due to his repetitive heavy black brush strokes.

Fans addicted to #Diego Voci’s art wanted to possess at least one or more paintings of every #genre. This caused Diego to paint more #clowns that he otherwise would have – just to satisfy his buyers. However  . . .

. . . Diego made every effort to make each clown distinctly different, yet distinctly recognizable as a Diego work of art. Here are 8 examples of each artist:

“#Send in the clowns” may have been a big hit in the 70’s, but so were Diego’s clowns.  Check out more of Diego’s clowns:                     https://www.pinterest.com/diegovoci/clowns-gallery/
