After an interview with #DiegoVoci™ in December 1973, Victoria Williams, then a writer was helping #Coop Cooprider gather stories, photos, & related ‘Diego’ information to assemble a book. She wrote, “DIEGO dominates the space around him.” The interview was published in a local TV Guide in Germany: https://www.pinterest.com/diegovoci/publications-diegovocitm/

The book did not happen in 1973, but last year in July 2015, Stephen Max and Coop Cooprider were able to select more than 100 images of Diego‘s art, an internationally collected Italian #Artist. Cooprider (DiegoVoci™Historian since ’73) recruited Stephen Max, from Alberta, Canada to join the DiegoVoci™Project (DVP). Stephen and his wife Wendy had exclusively represented Diego in Canada from 1981 until Diego’s untimely death from lung #cancer in 1985. Diego’s widow Helga Voci and their daughter Alessandra Voci still reside in Germany.

DiegoVoci™, internationally collected #Italian artist (1920-1985) was raised to know the significance of caring for his family. DiegoVoci™ Historian since 1973, Coop Cooprider, during interviews with Diego, his wife Helga, and numerous family members, was reminded that Antonio Diego Voci wanted a different life than #VanGogh and #Modigliani. Here an excerpt from the DiegoVoci™ #Cooprider Biography:

“Among Diego’s many facets was a drive never to be poor, never to live a tormented drug ridden life of Amedeo Modigliani who at age 35 “died in Paris exacerbated by poverty only one exhibition to his credit” or the tortured life of Vincent van Gogh who died at age 37, with only one painting purchased in his lifetime.

Diego greatly admired the exceptional work of both artists; but, unlike both artists who found few buyers for their work, in their lifetime, Diego did for his.”

“In 1975, we visited Diego and Helga at their home to meet with Diego and consider purchasing additional #paintings.

Diego and Helga were living in #Schwetzingen, #Germany at the time. Diego’s home housed art in so many #mediums and #forms, the visit was enchanting and we appreciated an enjoyable afternoon with Diego and Helga and a great bottle of #wine. On that visit we purchased the “Madchen Mit Tuch” and while there, we noticed an uncompleted painting, on an #easel in Diego’s #studio which was to become Suonatrice di Linto (February 1975).

Wendy and I instantly became entranced with the unfinished work and developed an unshakable bond with the painting, we needed to have it. We were able to convince Diego to complete the painting for us. This was truly a privilege to have witnessed the creation and completion of this painting which we enjoy as a masterpiece today.”

#VOCI #FAMILY IN #UK

#Mario & Dagmar Voci live in the U.K.  His uncle is internationally collected #artist DiegoVoci™ (1920-1985). Here are two original DiegoVoci™ artworks they treasure:

Dagmar and Mario, and their son Marcus visit Aunt Helga Voci (Diego’s widow) in Germany at least once a year. Their bond to Helga, her daughter Alessandra, and her own two sons Tommy and Timo are strong.

Dagmar and Mario shared great memories with Uncle Diego Voci and his family over the years. You will notice a very young Dagmar holding the DiegoVoci™ artworks while Mario took the photos. Notice her current photo – her smile is still the same:

HUNGER FOR MORE DiegoVoci ™ SPARKS A #SEARCH

On the last day of 2015 Kami of the DiegoVoci™ Project (DVP) staff saw a post on Jacqueline’s #Facebook page. A DiegoVoci™ oil painting titled “La Lecture” was purchased by Jacqueline directly from Diego in #Ramstein, Germany:

Regarding meeting with the great artist Diego, owner #Jacqueline Ping recalls,

“It was in 1975…a lifetime ago. I bought that painting as an investment painting hoping that someday he would be well-known.  I paid $300.00 for it at the time.  I still have his brochure from then.  Didn’t get an autograph but I should have, huh?”

Jacqueline also remembers,

“Diego was a very quiet soft spoken man. Diego and I conversed. We talked about his Indian paintings and his trip to #New Mexico. I remember telling him he looked like the American Indian and he said, ‘Yes people say that.’ Diego also mentioned how he really liked our #Southwest. We spoke of the similarity to parts of #Spain and #Italy. I was struck by the #artworks he had on display and Diego himself more than anything else.”

But, Jacqueline wanted more!

“I also wanted another which was a lady with a big red hat. I wanted both but could only afford one. It was exquisite and although I love the one I have. I have never forgotten her.” Kami said, “That reminds me of a Diego I think I have seen. I’ll try to find it.”

Kami searched through hundreds of images in the #DiegoVoci™Archive until she found a woman in a red hat and sent the image to Jacqueline:

BINGO. “Yes, that’s her!”

The DiegoVoci™ Project just purchased #FileMaker Pro14  to more professionally catalog the great body of artwork of internationally collected artist DiegoVoci™ in the only authorized DiegoVoci™ Archive (cost-free to Diego Art Collectors).

FileMaker Pro14 is the #database of choice by major #art galleries and many #museums.

REQUIREMENTS TO INCLUDE YOUR DIEGO ARTWORK:

• Title (*interpret as best as possible; some are in French and German)

#Conversations between #DiegoVoci™ Collectors

Eight years ago, one DiegoVoci™ collector after another found each other.  The door opened for discussions as DiegoVoci™ collectors share their hidden DiegoVoci™ works of art.  Christiane, Diego’s niece, posted her favorite DiegoVoci™ (see the original post on Artifact Collectors: http://www.artifactcollectors.com/diego-voci-antonio-diego-voci-3984818.html#40044).

This portrait is signed “Voci” a signature used pre 1965 prior to “Diego“.  A gentleman called FORMERMIL (Col. Stev Snow) who sadly to say is no longer with us here on earth) posted an astute interpretation of Christiane Hauk’s favorite work of art by DiegoVoci™.
