When Diego was “dabbling” in between his frequent inspirations and maybe yielding to a request from a devoted customer, little treasures like small tempera landscape would appear. Diego made it a gift to his agent / collector Christine Khan.

“DIEGO, a favorite of American art enthusiasts is a result of exhibits conducted by art patron Christine Khan throughout Germany.”
Christine Khan whose Diego collection exceeds 3 dozen, represented the last years of Diego’s life from 1975 to 1985. Christine was one of the important Ladies in Diego’s life. http://www.artifactcollectors.com/diego-history-4330818/Page6.html#161
“There is a story behind each piece by Diego. Each work of art is so different & unique. I live with them. Each Diego has a certain place in my home. DIEGO was intelligent, interesting, and had a great sense of humor. I was a friend of Diego and Helga’s prior to representing him. Diego wanted to paint what he liked.” – Christine Khan
Both Christine Khan’s son and granddaughter presently own Diego’s in their home too. Those persons who had the pleasure of meeting Diego felt his compassion for human beings and wanted a part of that. A Diego painting is the daily reminder of that compassion.
This landscape 13” x 9” tempera proudly is at the home of Christine Khan as she still enjoys each of her Diego’s.
