Calling Our Diego Detectives!
The mystery behind this painting of the week, titled “The Vintage” #1171 is its unknown whereabouts. Its history is of importance to the Diego Voci Project. We received an image of “The Vintage” from the curator email on the website of diegovoci. The submitter of the image has not responded to our requests, i.e. who is the owner of this painting, what history does the owner have of this painting? What are the dimensions of this painting? The painting was purchased in 1967 in Germany. The painting itself looks executed during a transition time between Diego’s tenure at Schloss Galerie in Zurich where his style was more refined and he signed A.Voci, to Naffouj Gallery in Germany, where he began the change with the use of “Diego” signature.
Helga Voci, widow of Diego, states “When in Zurich Diego mostly made big oil paintings and it took him quite a lot of time because those works were precise”.
